Choosing the correct stream after class 10th

Most students often have no or little idea about the stream they should pick after class 10th. They are not logical in choosing the right subjects and often end up picking a career stream because their friends are picking it or due to certain pre-defined aspirations of their parents. School students, as well as parents generally have a stereotypical preconception about the three main streams of study – Humanities, Science and Commerce. Unlike older times there are a variety of occupations a student can choose from based on his or her skills, abilities and interests. In most instances, students are not aware about the kinds of options they have and end up choosing a stream that aligns with traditionally well known occupations. Please don’t make this mistake! Like a subject? Go for it! You should choose a stream that will make your educational journey meaningful. No one wants a boring life and choosing the wrong stream will definitely do that for you at least for the last 2 years of school.

Importance of choosing the right career after class 12th!

Knowledge is power. Knowing yourself, your interests, abilities and personal goals will give you the right direction for mapping your career. You don’t want to limit your career options what people had a decade ago. Many times you want to be with your friends in the same class or college and end up picking what they are. Remember it’s you who has to do your job few years from now, not your friends. They will stay with you no matter what. Effective career guidance can help you debunk the stereotypical beliefs surrounding occupations. Remember beliefs like ‘designing’ are for girls and ‘engineering’ is for boys are as false as those beauty advertisements!
